Tuesday, March 24, 2026 

• Beginning at 6:00 am, Sunset Avenue will be converted to a two-way roadway in the 200 Block. A new traffic signal at the intersection of Bradley Place and Sunset Avenue will also be in operation. The Town Police Department will be assisting in driver awareness and will continue to monitor the intersection to evaluate the effectiveness of the change.

Palm Beach International Boat Show  

The Palm Beach International Boat Show will run from March 25 through March 29, 2026. Motorists should expect extended drawbridge openings due to the larger-than-usual volume of vessel traffic crossing under the Royal Park (Middle) and Flagler (North) bridges.  These extended delays can be expected before and after the boat show dates due to vessel arrival and departure times days before and after the event.  Please plan your travel and routes accordingly.

• Flagler Drive is closed in both directions from Lakeview Avenue to 2nd Street 
• Additional side street closures:      
• Banyan Boulevard 
• North and South Clematis Street

Latest Information & News from the Town of Palm Beach

On November 12, 2025, the Town of Palm Beach codified updates to Chapter 74 – Parks and Recreation, Article III (Boats and Boating) of the Town Code of Ordinances, strengthening regulations related to anchoring, mooring, and vessel activity within Town waters.

Under the updated ordinance, the following activities are prohibited:

• Extended Overnight Anchoring
  • Anchoring overnight for more than 30 days within any six-month period is not permitted.
• Unlawful Mooring
  • Securing a vessel to unpermitted or unauthorized mooring systems, including illegal mooring buoys, is prohibited.
• Improper Live-Aboard Activity
  • Living aboard a vessel is prohibited unless the vessel is located at an approved marina, designated mooring field, or compliant private dock with proper utilities.
• Derelict, Abandoned, or At-Risk Vessels
  • Vessels that are not properly maintained or that pose a risk to navigation, public safety, or the environment are subject to enforcement action and removal.
• Navigational Obstructions
  • Anchoring or mooring in a manner that obstructs waterways, access points, or navigational channels is prohibited.
• Environmental Violations
  • Activities that damage natural resources, including seagrass, marine habitats, or water quality, are prohibited.

The Palm Beach Police Department Marine Unit enforces these regulations through proactive patrols, education, and compliance initiatives. Officers provide notice of violations and may issue warnings or citations, with repeat or unresolved violations subject to fines and vessel removal.

The Town Council has approved the renewal of an incentive program that waives fees for the collection and disposal of Ficus hedges from private property, subject to certain conditions. To qualify, property owners must pre-schedule a pickup on a first-come, first-served basis by contacting the Public Works Department at 561-838-5440. Any replacement hedging must consist of Florida native plants. 

This service will begin on May 16, 2026, and will be available on six pre-scheduled Saturdays throughout May and June. Please note that service will not be provided over Memorial Day weekend (May 23, 2026). 

Participation in the program is optional. Property owners may still choose to hire a private landscape contractor or service provider for hedge removal and disposal. 

To qualify for the fee waiver, please contact the Public Works Department at 561-838-5440. The Public Works team will then reach out to schedule a meeting. Pick-up appointments will be pre-scheduled and handled on a first‑come, first‑served basis. 

Questions relating to replanting and plant type requirements should be directed to the Planning Zoning and Building Department at 561-838-5431.

To protect endangered sea turtles that nest on the local beaches, and the hatchlings that emerge from those nests, the Town of Palm Beach requires all oceanfront property owners to ensure that artificial lights are not visible from the beach between March 1 and October 31. 

Artificial lighting can confuse sea turtle hatchlings, causing them to move away from the ocean. Lights from buildings, homes, and landscaping can lead them inland, where they face dehydration, exhaustion, and predators. This disorientation is a major factor in the decline of sea turtle populations worldwide. 

To comply with the Town’s Shielding of Light ordinance, oceanfront property owners must: 

• Turn off lights that illuminate the beach or ocean 
• Shield or redirect lighting so it is not visible from the shoreline 
• Ensure outdoor lighting does not disturb nesting sea turtles or hatchlings during nesting season

The Town of Palm Beach is seeking applicants to serve on the Investment Advisory Committee. Interested residents must complete the online application for service and submit it to the Town Clerk’s Office by Friday, May 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The Town Council will consider the appointment at its meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. 

The Town Council will appoint two regular members to the Investment Advisory Committee, both of whom are eligible for reappointment. 

The Investment Advisory Committee acts in an advisory capacity. It shall make recommendations to the Town Council on matters relating to the town’s investment policy and the investment of the Town’s surplus funds. The Committee is comprised of five members, who shall be residents of the town. Members are appointed based on their prior fixed-income investment experience. The Town of Palm Beach will not do business directly or indirectly with a committee member for at least two years after the member’s term has expired.
