A police report may be obtained from the Records Unit, located in the lobby of police headquarters, 345 South County Road, Palm Beach, FL 33480. This service is provided Mon - Fri. from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. You can also call ahead of time to speak with a Records Custodian, 561-838-5480. Please have your case number available.
The Town of Palm Beach requires all alarms to be registered. You can download the ALARM REGISTRATION APPLICATION here and return the Subscriber Card in person or mail to Town Hall, 360 S. County Road, Palm Beach on Mon - Fri. from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The following information is needed: the name, address and phone number of your alarm company, names and phone numbers of emergency contacts (persons we can contact when you are not at home and who can respond with a key to your residence if needed).

The Palm Beach Police Department offers a "Closed House" service. Before leaving town, whether for a short vacation or for the entire season, call the department's non-emergency number (561-838-5454) to register for this free service or follow the link below to complete the convenient online form or printable Closed House PDF form.
When you call, the Telecommunicator will take down pertinent information which will be provided to the officers who patrol your street. Officers will check your house periodically throughout the day and night to insure that it is secure in your absence. When you return to town, call 561-838-5454 to cancel the service. There's no need to re-register each time you leave town. Simply call the Palm Beach Police Department to let us know you wish to activate the service.

The Town Emergency Re-Entry List Program is designed to assist our out-of-town residents/owners/lease holders, business owners or property representatives in gaining access to the Town after an emergency (e.g. hurricane) event. You MUST have a government issued I.D. to be placed on this re-entry list. Those with a Florida driver’s license that have a Town address do not need to complete this, unless they wish to place a property representative on the re-entry list.
After your application is submitted your name will be placed on an approved Emergency Re-Entry list that will be verified by an officer at designated re-entry checkpoints after an emergency. For security reasons, you will still be required to stop and present government issued I.D. at checkpoints. This Emergency Re-Entry list will expire on 12/31/2024. •The police may want to warn you about a potentially dangerous situation.•You may have committed a traffic violation.•Your vehicle may match the description of one used in a criminal act.•The officer might think you are in trouble and need help.•You may have witnessed a crime.
If you are stopped by the police while driving, you may feel confused, anxious or even angry.These are natural feelings, but remember, traffic stops can also be stressful and dangerous for the police officer. Each year, a number of law enforcement officers are killed or seriously injured while making the "routine" traffic stop. Police officers are especially vulnerable during the hours of darkness.
Remember: Be courteous and cooperative in any stop by the police. If you are courteous and cooperative, they will respond in kind.
When you see the blue overhead lights and/or hear the siren, remain calm, slow down and pull over in a safe location off the roadway.
• Do not exit your vehicle unless asked to do so. This is for safety reasons.• Keep your hands on the steering wheel so the officer can see them.• Inform the officer of any weapons in your vehicle and their location. Do not reach or point to the location.• Avoid any sudden movements, especially toward the floorboard, rear seat or passenger side of the vehicle.• Comply with the officer’s request to see your driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Florida law requires you to carry these with you.• If your documents are out of reach, tell the officer where they are before you reach for them.• If there are passengers in your vehicle, encourage them to remain quiet and cooperate with instructions. You, as the operator, are solely responsible for your vehicle and its occupants.• Avoid becoming argumentative. Arguing will not change the officer's mind. If you contest the violation, you will have an opportunity to address the matter in court.• Answer all questions truthfully.• The officer may issue you a ticket. If you feel the reason is vague or unclear, politely ask the officer for details.• If asked to sign a citation, do so. It is not an admission of guilt. Refusal could result in an arrest.• You have the right to politely deny a request by a police officer to search your car; however, if probable cause is present, the officer has the right to search your vehicle without your consent.• Understand that each situation is unique and the police officer must alter his or her response to fit the circumstance. Generally, however, a police officer
- Will provide his/her name upon request. - Will inform a person of the reason for being stopped. - Will only arrest a person for a crime committed in the officer's presence, or when the officer has probable cause to believe the person has already committed the crime.
REMINDER: Florida Statute 316.126 requires that all drivers yield the right of way to emergency vehicles. Drivers are to immediately pull over parallel to the nearest edge, stop and remain in a stopped position until the emergency vehicle has passed.
The Town of Palm Beach Police Department is implementing a new way for businesses and residents to update the information that is kept on file to reach a representative should they be needed. Owners will be able to go to our website at www.townofpalmbeach.com under “How Do I”, “Register For” to fill out either our residential or business information forms to mail, fax, or drop off directly to the Police Department. These forms ask for owner information, those authorized with a key to respond out should the owner not be available, any gate or access codes to the property and companies authorized on the property such as landscapers, construction, housekeepers, etc. This information is essential to have on file and kept up to date so that the Police Department and Fire Rescue Department can reach an authorized representative who can respond to the scene within 30 minutes.
This information will be stored securely by the Police Department Communications Unit and accessible only to police and fire rescue personnel. To verify the information provided, we ask for two forms of identification linking the owner to the property and sent with the residential or business information form, such as driver’s licenses, business rental agreements, vehicle registration, or a bill associated with the owner and the property.
