In 2016, The Town of Palm Beach received a Wastewater Pump Station Condition Assessment Report prepared by Mock Roos & Associates, Inc. for all the Town’s wastewater stations. Within the assessment it was identified that the E-2 Lift Station’s mechanical and electrical components have reached their useful operating life and is due for immediate upgrades. The Town Council has awarded a construction contract to D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation, to provide sanitary sewer improvements, which will include replacing the access hatches, pumps, piping, electrical gear, control cabinets and repaving the entire limits of construction.
The contractor will begin mobilizing North Lake Way between Mockingbird Trail and Nightingale Trail on Monday, April 29, 2019. A full road closure is anticipated for up to six (6) weeks during construction. Once the main components of the station are rehabilitated and tested, the roadway/traffic impacts may be limited to a single lane closure following the 6th week of the construction schedule.
Public Works intends to actively track the construction progress, so it will be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible, while ensuring that the traffic impacts are kept to a minimum. Refuse/yard trash collection schedules will not be impacted, except during the milling and paving operations.
