The Town of Palm Beach is seeking to appoint four (4) members to the Landmarks Preservation Commission effective January 2019. Currently, there is one (1) regular member whose final term expires in March 2019, one (1) regular member and one (1) alternate member who are eligible for re-appointment, and one (1) non-resident member with a special expertise in historic landmarks preservation who serves the term of one year and is also eligible for reappointment.
This commission reviews and approves structural and landscape modifications to designated structures and properties. Members must be registered voters of the Town and are appointed by Town Council based on having, to the highest extent practicable, a special knowledge of and a known interest in landmarks preservation.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to the Landmarks Preservation Commission must complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk’s Office in hard copy or via electronic transmission to townclerk@townofpalmbeach.com by Friday, March 8, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The appointments to the Landmarks Preservation Commission will be on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
