The Town of Palm Beach is seeking applicants for the Planning & Zoning Commission. One (1) regular member position is vacant. Current alternate members are eligible to apply for the vacant position, so in the event and alternate is promoted one (1) alternate position will be filled.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to the Planning & Zoning Commission must complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk in hard copy or via electronic transmission to townclerk@townofpalmbeach.com by Friday, April 27, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. The appointments to the Planning & Zoning Commission will be on the agenda for consideration at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
The Planning & Zoning Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Council in all matters relating to municipal planning and development. The Commission is required to follow the concepts and contents of the Town’s comprehensive land use plan in all planning, zoning and development related deliberations and decisions. The Commission shall also have such powers and duties as may be prescribed by Ordinance. Members of the Commission must be registered voters in the Town of Palm Beach and serve for terms of three (3) years. Three alternate members of the Planning & Zoning Commission may be appointed by the Town Council who serve when called upon by the Chair of the Commission in the absence of any regular member.
