Recently, the Town of Palm Beach experienced several auto burglaries in the area of Barton and Seaview Avenues. The Palm Beach Police Department would like you to know that four (4) arrests were made in connection with these burglaries. In an effort to prevent future occurrences:
- Lock car doors and set your alarm or use an anti-theft device.
- Never leave your car unoccupied with the motor running or with children inside.
- Do not leave valuables on the seat of your car. This creates a temptation for thieves. If you must leave something in the car, lock it in the trunk or put it out of sight.
- Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Set your indoor and outdoor lights on an automatic timer.
You can make a difference in preventing auto theft and burglaries. Trust your instincts, call 9-1-1 if you notice any suspicious activity and share these safety tips with your friends, family members and neighbors.
