Effective October 24th, 2021, Palm Beach County began requiring all phone dialing services to submit the whole ten-digit number instead of the previously used seven digit number. This new requirement always requires the inclusion of the area code when dialing a phone number. Therefore, if you are a Town of Palm Beach business owner or resident subscribed to the Town’s Direct Connect Alarm System, you will need to contact your alarm company and schedule an appointment with a technician to ensure your alarm panel is correctly programmed with all ten-digit numbers. This will ensure that your desired direct connection services continue to notify the Police Department concurrently with your alarm company. Residential subscribers should have their alarm panels programmed to 561-832-4445. Business subscribers should have their alarm panels programmed to 561-835-4636.
The Town of Palm Beach Police Department Direct Connect Alarm System works in conjunction with your current alarm system and provides direct notification to the Police Department at the same time as notification to the alarm company when an alarm is activated. This saves time in Police response and avoids the delay in having an alarm monitoring service confirm an emergency and subsequently call the Police Department.
If you have any questions about this information, please contact the Town of Palm Beach Police Department’s Communication Center through their non-emergency phone number, 561-838-5454.
