The Town of Palm Beach is urging residents to closely monitor the tropics as the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season starts to heat up.

A tropical disturbance in the Caribbean identified as Potential Tropical Cyclone 9 is anticipated to strengthen in the coming days. The most recent information from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is forecasting heavy rainfall and strong winds will impact Florida beginning Saturday through early next week.

Local officials are advising residents and business owners to monitor the situation closely and be ready to put their storm plans in action.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30, with the peak occurring around the middle of September.  Now is the time to ensure that hurricane supplies are prepared and your emergency plans are in order. Peak hurricane season is right around the corner and early preparation will ensure that you are “Storm Ready”.
