The Town of Palm Beach is seeking applicants to fill two (2) regular and two (2) alternate member positions on the Shore Protection Board.
There are two (2) regular members, whose terms will be expiring in December and are eligible to apply for another term. The alternate member positions are currently vacant. Current alternate members may apply for promotion to regular member status. In the event an alternate member is promoted, the newly vacated alternate position will be filled with one of the applicants seeking a position on the Board. To qualify, you must be a resident of the Town of Palm Beach or a non-town resident who possesses specific knowledge or skills directly related to shore protection, coastal management, and beach nourishment.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to the Shore Protection Board must complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019. The appointments to the Shore Protection Board will be scheduled on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
The Shore Protection Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Town Council and makes recommendations to the Town Council on all matters relating to shore protection in the Town of Palm Beach. The Shore Protection Board is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Town Council. Members of the Board will serve a (3) three year term.
