Major Nicholas Caristo has over 33 years of law enforcement experience after serving 20 years with the New York City Police Department. Major Caristo specialized as an investigator in the Special Victim’s Unit as well as being a 9/11 First Responder before starting his career with the Palm Beach Police Department on April 4, 2005. He served in the Patrol Unit, Detective Unit and Organized Crime Vice and Narcotics Unit. He was promoted to rank of Sergeant on October 26, 2013 as Supervisor to Organized, Crime, Vice and Narcotics Unit and Patrol Unit. On January 3, 2015, Sergeant Nicholas Caristo was promoted to the position of Lieutenant and subsequently assigned to Support Services, which oversees the Code Enforcement & Parking Unit, Business & Community Relations Unit, Records Information Unit and Communication Unit. He was then promoted to the rank of Captain on October 26, 2016 and then to Major on October 1, 2017.
Major Caristo has received 23 Department/Citizen commendations and was named Officer of the Month six times. He won Kiwanis Officer of the Quarter twice and also is a recipient of the Sons of the American Revolution Law Enforcement Commendation Medal.
Major Caristo holds a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from State University of New York Empire State College and currently enrolled at Palm Beach Atlantic University in the Master of Leadership program.
