In 2015 a total of 67.74% of the affected property owners in the Nightingale/La Puerta project area voted to proceed with the undergrounding of their overhead utilities, utilizing the special assessment process for funding over a 20 year period.
The capital assessment project to convert all overhead utility lines and facilities to underground service in the Nightingale/La Puerta Way Assessment Area received the final necessary approval from Town Council on July 12, 2016, and is now officially underway. Resolution No. 114-2016 awarded Bid No. 2016-33 and a construction contract to Danella Utility Construction, Inc. in the amount of $1,849,718. A project budget of $2,000,000 was approved.
