Civilian Division Manager Benjamin Alma joined the Palm Beach Police Department on February 1, 2016. Manager Alma has over 30 years of law enforcement experience serving over 20 years with the New Haven, CT Police Department, where he specialized as a community-based police officer, academy instructor, Investigator, K9 officer, motorcycle officer and a bomb technician assigned to the FBI WMD/EOD Taskforce with a Top-Security Clearance. With the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Law Enforcement Division, which is the agency charged with licensing and regulating licensing professions from Alcoholic/Tobacco to all the Trades, he served as a district supervisor overseeing both sworn and non-sworn members. He also served as an FDLE certified high-liability instructor.
Ben holds a Master of Science in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts. In 2018, Ben was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. He is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership program from Cornell University and Executive Leadership Institute to receive the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award.
