Jay Boodheshwar, Deputy Town Manager
Jay Boodheshwar began his service to the Town of Palm Beach as Director of Recreation in January 2006, was promoted to Director of Recreation and Special Projects in April 2010 and then Deputy Town Manager in January 2015. He is responsible for providing day-to-day operational leadership to the Town’s various departments to ensure the highest levels of service delivery to residents, visitors, and businesses. He works closely with the Town Manager on matters of long-term planning, organizational development, and execution of policy direction from the Mayor and Town Council
Prior to his service with the Town of Palm Beach, Mr. Boodheshwar served in various leadership roles for the City of Massillon, Ohio, the City of East Chicago, Indiana, the City of Bloomington, Indiana, and the Town of Munster, Indiana. Mr. Boodheshwar earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration from Bowling Green State University. He also earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
Mr. Boodheshwar has been very involved in various professional associations throughout his career, holding statewide offices with the Indiana Parks and Recreation Association and the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association, including service on the Board of Directors for both organizations. He is the immediate Past-President of the Palm Beach County City Management Association and is an active member of the Florida City and County Management Association, and the International City Management Association.
Mr. Boodheshwar has been very active as a volunteer in the communities that he has served. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Town of Palm Beach United Way and is a Past-Chairman. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Oxbridge Academy day school and on FAU’s Public Administration Alumni Society Board.
