Waste Collection Schedules
Single Family Residents
- Receive five days of service, Monday through Friday
- Includes four days of garbage and one day of recycling collection
Commercial Establishments
- Receive five days of service, Monday through Friday
- Hotels, restaurants and other facilities producing putrescible waste (waste that will rot) are serviced seven days per week
- Recycling also available for businesses
- Enroll by calling Public Works at (561) 838-5440
NOTE: For the safety of sanitation crews, all garbage must be placed inside the container for collection. Container(s) must be watertight and no larger than 50 gallons.
Recyclable Items
Styrofoam, plastic bags and food waste CANNOT be placed in recycle
Plastic bags can only be recycled at certain stores such as Publix in designated bins

Please reference the Solid Waste Authority's Recycle Right Everyday resource for useful information. Items placed for collection must be in an approved bin and not in plastic or garbage bags within the bin. Violation of Town Ordinances on proper recycling procedures may be subject to issuance of a warning notice. If you have questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (561) 838-5440.

Eligible yard debris and trash materials
- Yard vegetation only results from trimming and pruning
- Tree trimmings no longer than 8 feet long and no larger than 6 inches in diameter
General yard trash restrictions
- Piles of vegetation not to extend into the street more than 6 feet from curb or edge of pavement
- No yard trash in plastic bags
- No yard trash in alley ways, sidewalks, or over storm water drainage grates or within 6 feet of utility poles, fire hydrants, street light poles, or trees with lower-hanging branches
- No stumps or logs. Property owners are responsible for disposing of stumps or logs themselves.
Restricted roads: cannot place on FDOT roads including Royal Poinciana Way, Royal Palm Way, S. County Rd, Southern Blvd, S. Ocean Blvd below the S. County Rd intersection
When can yard waste be set out?

Special Collection Service is provided Fridays by advance appointment only for household waste not meeting the definitions for garbage or yard trash. These items may not be placed for collection in a garbage container and may not be placed in the street as yard trash. A Special Collection Service is provided for the collection and disposal of large bulky items; such as appliances, furniture, packing crates and more items. A fee applies for this service.
