The Public Employee Relations Committee determines units appropriate for collective bargaining; expeditiously processes charges of unfair labor practices, and resolves concerns regarding recognition of bargaining agents / units and other controversies as it may be authorized herein to undertake. The three-member commission is appointed by the Town Council as per state law, from a list of persons submitted by an independent “blue ribbon” panel appointed by the Town Council. The membership must be comprised of three persons each who on account of previous vocation, employment, or affiliation, are or have been classified as 1) a person who represents employers; 2) a person who represents employees or employee organizations.
